The Daily Scroll - Roar

In the Bible a question is asked, “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?” Well…why? Nations roar with rage but so do many people. And I mean good Christian believers find themselves roaring with rage. And over what? Traffic on the highway? Really? A disrespectful teenager?

It seems that the world we live in has put so much pressure on us, that humanity is at it’s boiling point. Take for instance Wayne and his son Phil. Phil returned the family car with the tank on empty, in spite of his promise to replace the gas. Wayne and Phil yell and scream at each other to the point of almost coming to blows. Not typical for a Father and Son who love each other. But it happens.

The Bible teaches us that these things will be more prevalent in the last days. “Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.” (Mark 13:12)

It looks like it’ll get much worse before it gets better. We believers must use wisdom and discernment to recognize the source of this chaos. The enemy, who wants our souls. We must stand against the enemy and roar the victory in Jesus!

The Daily Scroll - Blot Out

Today in the United States we observed a total eclipse of the sun. It was a true wonder to see the moon blot out the sun. Crowds were gathered and celebrating the miracle of it all. Thousands of people from all over the world looking skyward together reminded me of that day, spoken of in the Bible, when all the people of the world will witness the return of Jesus Christ.

He will return as He left, from the the heavens. He will descend to Jerusalem and His feet will set down on the Mount of Olives. From Jerusalem He will establish His world rule, and all peoples, great and small, will worship Him on bended knee. Today we experienced the marvel of the moon blotting out the sun. One day soon we’ll experience the marvel of Jesus, who blotted out our sin, and caused the whole world to look up with wonder.
