“I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings. But like Adam, you broke my covenant and betrayed my trust.” Hosea 6:6-7
The heart of God is for us to know him. How can we, his creation, deny him this? Really?

This is the season of giving. So give something to somebody. If you don’t have money then that’s OK. Clean out a closet, clean out the garage, clean out something and give something away. God loves a cheerful giver! Instead of having a yard sale maybe you wanna give some of that stuff that you don’t want to somebody that will treasure it. Think about it and be a blessing.
What must the father have been thinking with the expectation of the birth of his only begotten son? After the holy conception he must have been even more aware with more anticipation than even Mary who was soon to become the mother of Christ. He depended upon two earthly people to bring his precious son into the world, to raise him, to teach him, to love him and be what he could not be to Him...earthly human parents. What must the father have been thinking?
Jesus said that He is the way, the truth, and the life. And that no man comes to the Father except through Him. There are no other ways, no other salvation, no other peace and relationship with the Father except through our Lord Jesus Christ. People, even famous people, as well as other religions claim that there are “Many” ways to God. Well, there are many ways...to God’s judgment! It’s a horrible thing to fall into the hands of an angry God. But it’s love beyond compare to fall into the arms of the loving God made possible by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Forgiveness is a One Way Street
Have you ever been wronged by someone? I mean really hurt to the core? It’s probably happened to all of us a time or two in our lives. The pain is worsened when someone close to us does it, such as family, friends or fellow Christians.
Natural human reactions can be revenge, anger, bitterness, or even disillusionment. We often protect ourselves by drawing away from the offender. This may lead to isolation from everyone into a self-imposed exile of loneliness.
Waiting for the offender to make things right is usually futile. The offender either doesn’t realize the damage they’ve done through their words or actions, or they just don’t care. Your suffering means nothing to the offender. They couldn’t care less! The injured one carries the hurt.
The Lord Jesus showed us a higher way. He taught us by example to forgive. He said, as He hung on the cross dying,
"Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34NLT)
I’ve had to forgive on occasion. When I was a young minister living on faith, my prescription glasses were stolen from the dashboard of my vehicle. I believed it was done by some neighborhood teens though I couldn’t be sure. The loss hurt me badly. I asked myself, “Why’d they steal my prescription glasses? They’re no good to anybody but me, and I need them to drive.”
The more I thought about it the angrier I got. I couldn’t replace them at the time so it began to eat at me on the inside. Finally, I took it to the Lord. He told me in my Spirit that I must forgive them.
“Forgive them? I asked. They haven’t asked my forgiveness.” On that day I learned how forgiveness is a one-way street. When Jesus forgave those who crucified Him, they had not asked for forgiveness. Jesus would have never forgiven them if their asking were the prerequisite. No. Not only did He forgive them, He also did not hold it to their account.
So, I had to forgive those boys. I prayed from my heart for Father to forgive them, and then I took the extra step as led by the Spirit. I prayed, “Father, I give my glasses to those boys. The glasses now belong to them. They can’t steal their own glasses, so Father don’t hold it to their account.”
As I released the glasses to them, forgiveness was released, and a remarkable thing happened. The hurt, anger, and bitterness, from which I suffered, were released as well. I was freed from the hurt that was eating me up. Though they never asked my forgiveness and never knew I had forgiven them, in God’s eyes it was official. They were forgiven and I was free! I released the grudge I was carrying.
So if you should find yourself walking down Bitterness Road, or Betrayal Lane, having been wronged, stop and turn right on Forgiveness Way. It will lead you away from the Angry Acres gated community, to the land of peace.
Remember, there is no going back because Forgiveness is a one-way street!
If you’re depressed and alone… Don’t do it. If you don’t feel like life is worth living… Don’t do it. If you feel unloved and hopeless… Don’t do it. You are not alone… Jesus loves you. Life is worth living and the best is yet to come… Jesus loves you. You are loved and there is hope… Jesus loves you. Jesus loves you so don’t do it.
“Cleanse yourselves, purity your thoughts and deeds for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Quicker than the lightning strikes from the east to the west. To those who are watching and waiting for His coming is a joyful event. To those who aren’t, His coming will be like a terrible swift sword. - gene
Do you see the worst in people or the best in people. Most of us see the worst in people, and it’s easy because it sometimes jumps out at us. But most people have a good side as well. Aside that the public doesn’t often see. When Jesus looks at us of course he knows all he knows our faults. But if you were to sit down and speak with him and let him appraise you I dare say he would never mention one of your faults nor one of your feelings. He will find the good things and you and even give you examples of when you displayed those good things. So don’t be afraid to come before him or one day will all go before his judgment seat because as a child of God and is a born-again Christian the good for outweighs the bad and he will help us to overcome the bed if we ask him.See yourself like he sees you, a precious child of God.
After God miraculously saved Daniel in the lions den, King Darius made the following decree:
“I decree that everyone throughout my kingdom should tremble with fear before the God of Daniel. For he is the living God, and he will endure forever. His kingdom will never be destroyed, and his rule will never end. He rescues and saves his people; he performs miraculous signs and wonders in the heavens and on earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.” ( Daniel 6:26-27)
So if you are in, or about to be in, a lions den of this world...look up to God. He is your source, your protector, your Savior.
To be like Jesus, to be like Jesus
That’s all I ask, To be like him.
All through life’s journey, from earth to glory.
That’s all I ask, to be like him.
“Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power. He controls the course of world events; he removes kings and sets up other kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light.” (Daniel 2, 20-22)
When the heater is too hot we go to the thermostat and turn down the temperature. When the air is too cold we go to the thermostat and turn up the temperature. But when the heat is neither too hot or too cold and it seems just right and comfortable we leave the thermostat alone alone. In our spiritual life we get excited about God and we tell people about him and we read his word and pray and try to be the best we can be for him and in that way we’re on fire for God. In other words were hot. Also in our spiritual life we could forget the good things that God has done for us, forget about how excited we were when we first received our fellowship with Jesus and life could become cold spiritually. Also we could become mundane in our relationship with Jesus, go through the motions maybe even go to church, sit there and leave unfazed, unaffected, and empty. Jesus said that he would rather us be hot or cold. Either all the way for him or not, but to just go through the motions is something he does not like. So we should check our thermostat and make sure we are hot for God and our relationship with God. Not cold, and not lukewarm especially. He said if we were lukewarm he would spew us out of his mouth. In other words no relationship. So let us check our thermostat.
“He [God] reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light” (Daniel 2:22)
We must understand that God sees everything and everyone at all times. We can’t run, we can’t hide, so don’t bother. Instead, run to Him. His arms are open wide for you. Yes you! He loves you, forgives your sins, and longs for fellowship with you. He really does.
It’s there if you look for it.
In these last days in which we live, as the Bible predicted, we see wars and rumors of wars, pestilence, pandemics, earthquakes in various places. Economic uncertainty worries many people in many lands. However, it’s there if you look for it. What’s there? Good. Good you say? What good? The beauty of a sunrise, or the majesty of a sunset. The joy of a newborn baby. The words “I now pronounce you Husband and Wife.” A flower that survived an early frost. Yes, there is good all around us if you look for it. - gene
When enjoying the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping, don’t get too busy to acknowledge the greatest gift of all. A precious little baby born long ago for you.
I Just Want You
When in the throes of pain - I just want you
When fortunes I have gained - I just want you
When happy at the table - I just want you
When lying here disabled - I just want you
When friendly hearts surround me - I just want you
When hordes of evil pound me - I just want you
When Up, down, good or bad - I just want you...Jesus
There is a friendly debate among historians as to when the first Thanksgiving was celebrated in America. Some say it was in Virginia in 1610, and others hold fast to our traditional first Thanksgiving celebrated in Plymouth Plantation, Massachusetts, in 1621.
Whichever side of the debate one chooses to embrace, the fact remains that Thanksgiving Day is ours.
Before America existed as a nation, the hardy souls who persevered to found this great country made the effort to thank God Almighty for His provision and grace.
Giving thanks in Virginia, Massachusetts, and many other settlements across the new world was a spontaneous act by grateful people. They experienced a life so rugged, that without the providence of God they would have surely not survived. They were grateful for God’s favor and blessing.
Our first President, George Washington, a man acclaimed to be the Father of our Country, acknowledged God as the source of our Nation’s strength and very existence. He felt so strongly about this that he made a proclamation for a national day of thanksgiving on Thursday, November 26th, 1789.
President Abraham Lincoln made it an official national holiday on Thursday, November 26th, 1863. He believed in the importance of setting aside a day to honor God and give thanks individually and corporately as a people.
Thanksgiving day has become a tradition, which like other traditions, has developed, grown, and transitioned from being a simple spiritual act of acknowledging God’s blessings, to a national event of unbridled proportions.
Ball games, shopping, days off from work, and travel are just a few of the Thanksgiving activities that can encumber us and help us to forget the true meaning of the holiday.
This day is meant to be a time to stop, take notice of our blessings, and acknowledge God with a grateful heart. Lest we forget, there have been Thanksgivings in the past that were very trying and somber, days of prayer and fasting.
Today, one could say that we are too busy enjoying our blessings to pause and be thankful. We all share in the responsibility for the national event that Thanksgiving Day has become because it is our day.
I am so thankful to God that He has given us the freedom to worship Him with our thanks. And the blessings that we enjoy over this holiday are truly from Him.
I believe He continues to bless us in part because we do take a day, our day, each year, and as a people tell the whole world that we thank Almighty God for His provident grace.
The Bible says: “Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.” (1 Chronicles 16:8 NLT)
This Thanksgiving as we share our feast with our loved ones, plan our shopping for Friday, and our Christmas decorating for Saturday, give a nod to our forbearers whose grateful hearts made this all possible.
Enjoy taking part in a celebration uniquely our own, individually and corporately. Pass on to the next generation the knowledge of how blessed we are as individuals, families, and as a people.
Speak of the mighty and wondrous things that the Lord has done, and share our thankful hearts one with another.
“Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power.” (Psalm 145:4 NLT)
The famous author O. Henry wrote, “There is one day that is ours. There is one day when all we Americans who are not self-made go back to the old home to eat biscuits and marvel how much nearer to the porch the old pump looks than it used to. Thanksgiving Day is the one day that is purely American.”
Happy Thanksgiving!
Tomorrow, in the US, we celebrate Thanksgiving which we believe started with the pilgrims giving thanks to God for sustaining them in this new land. They celebrated with indigenous people and together, we believe, had a wonderful meal and a good time. So what will we do tomorrow? Close our self off to just ourselves and our family? This is good but maybe we could stretch that invitation out to some indigenous people in our own community. And when I say indigenous people I really mean people that we normally have nothing to do with, that are there but seemingly separate from our community and our realm of friends and family. Many people are hurting right now. Some are sick some are very poor and many really don’t know where their next meal is coming from. Our community raised funds and food in various outreach campaigns to help the poor and I’m sure the ones that get this will really appreciate it. But what about those that don’t receive it? And what about those who need it every day not just Thanksgiving or Christmas. Let this be a time in whatever community you live in, whether you’re in America, England, Belarus, Australia and everywhere that this blog is read, to reach out and bless, or feed someone. If only one person. If you have it in your heart to help, God will put someone on your heart to bless. I hope everyone has a very blessed Thanksgiving day tomorrow with family and friends and a blessed day of thanks around the world. - gene
Dear Readers,
A Month ago today I fell and broke my right leg. So I was forced to pause my Daily Scroll. I have been in the hospital and in hospital rehab. However I am now going to continue with the help of God to produce my daily stroll from my hospital bed. I miss my dear readers and I will do my best to be here for you. I can testify that God has been with me every step of the way and the gospel I preach is true. The Lord Jesus does stick closer than a brother. In the future I’ll share more of what I’ve learned so far. For now, to everyone who may be sick or hurt, in the hospital or sick bed, I feel your pain I understand your frustrations. More importantly, so does the Lord. If you know the Lord Jesus as your personal savior know that he is with you, right beside your sickbed. He’s never left your side and he never will. He promised this in the Bible.
Give thanks to the Lord who is still and always will be, the giver of the rain.
“He wraps Himself in light as with a garment; He stretches out the heavens like a tent, laying the beams of His chambers in the waters above, making the clouds His chariot, walking on the wings of the wind.” (Psalm 104:2-3)
Would you have gotten into the ark of Noah? Or would you have scoffed because you didn’t believe. Now we have heard that Jesus is coming back and the world will be going through such tribulation as have not been seen before. Times and events so bad that if God didn’t stop it that there wouldn’t be a human left alive on this earth. People scoff and say that the Bible is a man made book that’s not of God. They don’t believe. Do you? Are you and yours in Christ. Like the ark of Noah, Christ is the only escape. Let’s get everybody in before it’s too late.
Frost on the Pumpkin Dust on the Bible
I remember waking up to the radio alarm one day to the refrain, "Hello country bumpkin, how's the frost out on the pumpkin?" My wife and I laughed and laughed at such words to be awakened with. In this season of the fall harvest when pumpkins seem to spring up everywhere, I think about those days of innocence, those days when our biggest concern was the frost on the pumpkin.
At this time of the year our nation celebrates Halloween's many activities, which includes carving out pumpkins and sitting them on the front porch steps. It has become a family tradition for millions of people. Yet very few use the bounty of the pumpkin for food.
One year at this time we had so many real pumpkins on our porch, fake pumpkins in the flowerbeds, and even giant blow up plastic pumpkins in the front yard that we earned the title, "The Pumpkin house," from the neighborhood kids. But we didn't eat a single one! (Pumpkin, not kids).
Now here we are again in the fall season when these orange spheres show up in front yards like dandelions on a summer day. We surround ourselves with this beautiful bounty as decoration but the food within we discard on newspaper.
The Bible says,
"Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee" (Psalm 116:7 KJV).
Are we enjoying the bounty?
The poet John Greenleaf Whittier, who was born in Massachusetts in 1807, wrote:
"The Pumpkin" (1850)
Oh! Fruit loved of boyhood! The old days recalling.
When wood-grapes were purpling and brown nuts were falling!
When wild, ugly faces we carved in its skin,
Glaring out through the dark with a candle within!
Back in the olden days, a carved pumpkin was placed on the family hearth to keep evil spirits from coming down the chimney and into the home to do their dastardly deeds.
Today, in homes across America many have replaced this use of the carved pumpkin with the Bible. Now bear with me a moment. We set the Bible out on the coffee table, enjoy its beauty, and yet rarely pick it up. We know that it holds a bounty within, yet we don't feast on the rich food of the word when it's sitting right here in front of us. We dust it, and display it with pride when visitors come, yet how many times, like the pumpkin, does it end up just sitting on a newspaper?
The food within the Bible nourishes our spiritual man within, yet we are starving ourselves and allowing the spirits to enter our homes through the modern-day chimney, the television. Now that's scary. Wouldn't our fore-bearers be aghast if they could see us today? We might call them superstitious for trying to ward off evil spirits with a carved pumpkin, but what would they say about us for not even trying?
The wonderful bounty of the pumpkin awaits the pies, while the life-giving food in the Bible awaits our eyes. This season, when you see the pumpkin carved so ingeniously and sitting on the porch, remind yourself of the Bible written so divinely and sitting on your table. It has a candle within which will never go out and will keep every evil spirit at bay.
Inside the Bible it says,
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105 KJV).
So hello, County Bumpkin! How's the frost out on the pumpkin? Hello, modern rival! How's the dust out on the Bible? Happy Feasting!
Officials recommend having an emergency radio for times of disaster, bad weather, and such, for communications. How much more important is it to have good communications with God in those times of emergencies. Keep your spiritual batteries fresh. You never know when disaster will strike and good communication with Him could determine life or death.
We are so unworthy of the forgiveness, grace, peace, and love given us by God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Yet in His eyes He sees something in us that we don’t see in ourselves. He sees His family and will do anything, pay any price, make any sacrifice, to bring us home to Him. Even to the death on a cross of His most precious family member, His only begotten Son...Jesus.
When you have a personal relationship with Jesus, you’ll come to realize that He is with you all the time. You’re joined in Holy union through the Holy Spirit. He is not obstructive, for the Holy Spirit is a gentleman. Rather He is a comfort in times of distress, a blessing in times of need, a friend in times of loneliness. It is a joy to walk with Him. - gene
Lord, I believe in You: increase my faith. I trust in You: strengthen my trust. I love You: let me love You more and more… Guide me by Your wisdom, correct me with Your justice, comfort me with Your mercy, protect me with Your power. I offer You, Lord, my thoughts: to be fixed on You; my words: to have You for their theme; my actions: to reflect my love for You…. I want to do what You ask of me: in the way You ask, for as long as You ask, because You ask it. Amen.” (Clement, 95 AD)
Prophesy is the history of the future.
The Bible proclaims, describes, and warns us not to be caught unaware.
For as surely as the past has happened, the future, as described in biblical prophecy, has as well. - gene
O Nations, why do you shake? Why do you tremble? What wakes you from your slumber as you repose with your full stomach? Know that God is not mocked. Do not mistake His patience and long suffering for weakness or even non-existence. Oh, He is there and He sees. But you say this is our time! This is our moment! You only have the moment in time which God gives you. You have plundered His people, ruined the goodness bestowed by God on your forefathers, whom acknowledged Him with fear and respect. Search the scriptures and see your fate. For He, who cannot lie, has clearly warned you, in His Holy word, what becomes of Nations who refute the laws and precepts of Almighty God. Wake up! Slide from your bed of drunkenness down to your knees and repent before it’s too late oh Nations. For when God breaks both of your arms like he did to Pharaoh, as recorded in Ezekiel 30:20, you will be defenseless to even raise a sword and will by destroyed by your enemies.
Beware of temptation. In the time in which we live, there is an ocean of temptation. You may feel like a castaway in this ocean, but remember that God, your God, promised in His word that when temptation come in strong against you, He will provide a way of escape. He will throw you a life jacket, or cause a board to float your way. Keep your eyes pealed for the way of escape, not the seemingly overpowering ocean of temptation which encompasses you. He will provide a way to safety if He has to walk on the water to pull you out. -gene
Have faith in God. Make peace with God through Jesus Christ his son. You know you’re going to face him one day, maybe one day soon. Accept Christ as your Savior and have the peace and assurance that when you face God, it will be a pleasurable glorious experience. To face God without Christ is a fearful thing. Either way, one day we will all face God. - gene
We need the Lord. When all seems lost, when hope is gone, we need the Lord. He who cannot lie says to us... “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
“I will allow nomads from the eastern deserts to overrun your country. They will set up their camps among you and pitch their tents on your land. They will harvest all your fruit and drink the milk from your livestock.” (Ezekiel 25:4)
The love of God is a joy...a joy to receive, a joy to experience, and a joy to share. Think about it. The Master Creator of the universe, and all that exists, loves You! Yes you! What a joy to know. Now... love Him back.
Mr. Spock, of Star Trek fame, would raise his hand and say “Live long and prosper.”
This "Vulcan salute," as it has come to be called, was invented on the set of Star Trek by actor Leonard Nimoy during the filming of the second-season opener, "Amok Time." What the people didn’t know was that the Vulcan greeting came from Leonard Nimoy’s real-life Jewish heritage. He took it from the ancient blessing the Jewish Priests would bestow upon the Israelites.
“Tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing: 'May the LORD bless you and protect you. May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace.' Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.” (Numbers 6:23-27 NLT)
The actual blessing is done with both arms held horizontally in front, at shoulder level, with hands touching, to form the Hebrew letter "shin." This stands for the Hebrew word for "Shaddai", meaning "Almighty [God]."
With the hand symbol, the priest was putting the name of God on the people, sealing it upon them.
This is a special blessing God wants all of us to receive. This blessing is so important because it covers us completely in every area of our life, spiritually and materially.
This blessing is so specific that God commanded the Priests to bless the people not using their own words, but rather using an exact formulation for the blessing, prefacing the instruction with the words: “Thus shall you bless.”
This reveals that the blessing comes from the LORD Himself; the priests were a means for transmitting His gracious will. Now that we have Jesus, our Messiah, our Savior, we know that He is The High Priest and that His sacrifice has made it possible for us to enter boldly before God.
So today we can pray, petition, and speak blessings knowing that our voice will be heard, and our words will be fruitful before the Lord our Creator, because of Jesus.
As we continue to study the Priestly Blessing we learn that the people accepted the blessing and responded. So how do we receive and respond to a blessing from our Heavenly Father? We anticipate His blessing with a thankful heart and declare that His Word is so. Here is the blessing that the priests recited, along with the response of the people.
JPRIEST: May the LORD bless you and protect you.
PEOPLE: Yes, may it be His will.
PRIEST: May the LORD shine His face to you and be gracious to you.
PEOPLE: Yes, may it be His will.
PRIEST: May the LORD turn (or lift up) His face to you and give to you peace.
PEOPLE: Yes, may it be His will.
You may ask, what does a Jewish blessing have to do with me?
The Bible says,
“And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you” (Galatians 3:29NLT).
So that means that all of God’s blessings are for us to obtain because Jesus paid the ultimate price. Everything he promised pertains to all of His children.
So let us expect the blessings from God and enjoy His goodness. Be thankful for the gift of His Son Jesus, which is His greatest blessing to us each day of our lives.
Seek the Lord while he may be found. For there is coming a time, sooner than you think, when the believers who fellowship with the Lord in the spirit, from a close intimate spiritual connection, will be gone. That will be what we call the rapture. After the rapture happens, to find the Lord, although possible, will be more difficult than it is now. The events of the world with shake men to their very core, and as the word of God says, “men’s hearts will fail them for fear.” Seek the Lord while he may be found. Make peace with God. Let your salvation be assured for accepting Christ into your heart. Let your future be assured for you and those you love by preparing your everlasting soul for eternity. Seek the Lord while he may be found. - Gene
“I am the LORD your God,’ I told them. ‘Follow my decrees, pay attention to my regulations, and keep my Sabbath days holy, for they are a sign to remind you that I am the LORD your God.” (Ezekiel 20:19)
He will walk with you in your joy. He will walk with you through your valley. He will walk with you through the desolate cold. He will walk with you through the fire. Wherever you’re walking today, invite Jesus to walk with you. He will, because He loves you regardless of where you are, the struggle, or the peace. Take His hand and walk.....
We take too much for granted. Things change and nothing lasts forever...so enjoy life, it’s fleeting.
The United States of America... A complex nation. A Nation founded on the principles of honor, righteousness, and fairness. Principles that even the founders only partially performed. One nation under God was the foundation stone, and the principles of God was the fuel of freedom. The founders dreamed of what could be, dreamed of what should be, and we as citizens must never forget that there is a better version of ourselves. A version that the founders saw, a version that our fellow citizens fought and died for. For like any good father who dreams of his child’s future success, our Heavenly Father dreams of the success of our nation, and we shall succeed by the measure of God’s precepts which we uphold.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
Wars and rumors of war, pestilence, earthquakes in diverse places, and who knows what other disasters are coming our way. Jesus told us this was coming yet we don’t believe, do we? The Bible tells us that Jesus Himself is coming.....do we believe? The Bible tells us of many things that must happen, and they have...yet do we believe? We better.
My sweet wife had a small plaque which sat on her piano many years ago in our first home. It read,
“Just one life will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”
Enough said.
Those who practice sin, evil worship of false gods, meetings and murder in dark secret places, know this...
Prayer...” Oh Lord, please protect our children. Bless the mothers who prepare their little ones for kindergarten and school. Answer their Mother’s prayers and keep them safe. We have protected the children of Afghanistan and around the world, so protect ours. Mothers hand their children over the wall to soldiers for protection, maybe to never see them again. We will care for them, so please care for ours in this day of ever increasing danger. Keep them safe and help us raise them in the fear and admonition of your great glory, oh God. Amen.
“ Put your brain in neutral, trust in the Lord, and let Him finish His job. You won’t be in the chair forever, but if you squirm, you make His job harder, and it could hurt you worse. Don’t forget that God is your Father. He loves you and will do what is best for you. You might not see it at the time, especially if the circumstances seem impossible, but hold on to His word. He who cannot lie says, “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10 KJV). Don’t squirm! Gene Markland
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one [j]cubit to his [k]stature?
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:25-34
