The Daily Scroll - Rainbow Tornado

This week seems to be disastrous for many fellow Americans. Fires, floods, thunderstorms, and tornados. Some are saying that we are receiving judgement from God.  Judgement  due to the disastrous behavior and blatantly sinful lives that so many are living. Others say that God is a loving God who would never wreak havoc on our nation and it’s people.

We’ll friends I have thoroughly read and studied the Bible, which is from God, and I see something different. Love and judgement. Mercy and punishment. The law of God is without repentance. God said it and that settles it. Sin is sin and those who commit sin and also those who condone sin are subject to the wages of sin, which the Bible says is death.

God doesn’t have to sit on His throne in heaven and speak disaster on America. All He has to do is lift His hand of protection off of us and bad things happen. And not only us but the entire world is under His authority. Let us recall the great flood that covered the earth and the one family which survived. It was judgement on a world so evil that it couldn’t redeem itself. So judgement came upon the earth.

But in the midst of judgement and total destruction was love. The Bible teaches us that above Gods’ throne in heaven is a rainbow which circles the throne.

“And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.” (Revelation 4:3)

“I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.” (Genesis 9:13-17)

Before the great flood the people of earth had never seen a rainbow or such a flood, or tremendous rain from the sky. So in the midst of this disaster, God in His love, promised the people of earth that He would never destroy them by the great flood again. So don’t fear.

The rainbow is so precious to God and yet it has been despitefully used in promotion of sin. This hurts God the Father especially hard. His love thrown back in His face. His patience is being sorely tried by the sin which is covering the earth. And we must know that when the law is broken there are consequences. God doesn't have to strike us, He only as to lift His hand. I believe that a finger or two has been lifted.

I have said all of this to illustrate a point. As I viewed the news this morning and saw coverage of tornados in the Chicago area, there was a video similar to the picture below. A tornado and a rainbow together. It struck fear in my heart when, in the Spirit, I heard the Lord say, “How dare you pervert my rainbow!”

Wake up America! Wake up people of the earth! Prepare your souls!
