I have a friend, a devout Christian, who is elderly and suffers from various health conditions. Congestive heart failure, diabetes, painful neuropathy, to name a few. Yet with his suffering his faith remains strong. He has seen healing for others through his own prayers, and healing of himself, yet he still suffers. Only God knows why we suffer even though we believe in Him. One thing I do know, Jesus has been through much more than any of us can comprehend, even to His death on a cruel cross. Yet He overcame as He rose from the dead. And because He did it, we will do it in Him.
“Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.“ (Hebrews 2:18)
So if you’re suffering today, remember that He is an ever present help in the storm.
